The supportive castes includes Apprentices, Scribes and Senior Scribes, with the Head Scribe being the highest rank achieveable in this caste. The combative caste includes Aspirants, Knights and Paladins with Head Paladin being the highest rank achievable in this caste. However, thanks to the influence of the Midwestern brotherhood, it does adopt a two castes system Combative and supportive.
Unlike other Brotherhood of Steel chapters, including the Midwestern brotherhood with which they are allied, the Northern Brotherhood is neither descended from Maxsons original collumn nor follows its doctrines.
